定义

等价交换原则，即商品价值等量交换的原则，是商品交换的基本原则。无论生产力发展到怎样的水平，只要交换过程存在，等价交换就是应该遵循的原则。这是因为，这一原则是商品价值维持其本质属性的必要保证，否则，商品的价值范畴就失去了意义。等价交换原则保证各物质部门的生产耗费从商品的出售价格中得到补偿，并获得平均利润，从而使社会再生产得以顺利进行。如果价格长期低于价值，企业出售产品所得不足以弥补原材料和人工耗费，或不能取得利润，企业就不可能扩大生产规模甚至不能维持简单再生产，社会再生产过程就将中断。如果价格长期高于价值,企业轻易获得超额利润,则会影响企业提高经营管理水平和发展生产（等价交换.via：http://wiki.mbalib.com/wiki/等价交换）。等价交换原则是商品交换的客观要求，只有实行等价交换，才能使商品生产和商品交换正常进行，维护各个生产者、消费者的利益，才能形成平等的竞争环境，使商品生产者在竞争中优胜劣汰，从而促进经济快速、健康的发展。强调等价交换原则只适用于商品经济，不能引入政治生活和其他社会生活领域（等价交换原则.via：http://baike.baidu.com/link?url=TN39qDOY1vC0fFuf1yKgM9ulMX36MOhvE_djbpjyakUX8KvYamvu6pmFKR72b1xy）。
