定义

某一历史时期内反映一定阶级或阶层利益和要求的有较大影响的思想倾向和潮流。例如社会思潮、政治思潮、文艺思潮、哲学思潮等。由于各个阶级、阶层或利益集团在社会生活中地位和作用的差异，由于彼此发展的不平衡性和内、外条件的复杂性，它们在社会经济、政治、思想文化、伦理道德等方面的倾向在不同时期是有差异的，这种差异就构成一定的思想潮流。一般来说，代表进步势力、处于上升时期的阶级、阶层和集团，所形成的思潮也往往是进步的。例如，马克思主义就是进步的思潮；代表落后势力、处于没落时期的阶级、阶层或集团，所形成的思潮也往往是落后的、反动的。落后的、反动的思潮具有很大的迷惑性、腐蚀性、煽动性，很容易对群众尤其是革命意志薄弱者产生消极影响（向洪，1992：94）。1847年，马克思和恩格斯参与创建了第一个无产阶级政党——共产主义者同盟，他们把自己的革命理论同工人运动结合起来，在工人运动中同各种错误思潮进行斗争。马克思和恩格斯在《共产党宣言》中曾批判小资产阶级的社会主义，认为：“这种社会主义按其实际内容来说，或者是企图恢复旧的生产资料和交换手段，从而恢复旧的所有制关系和旧的社会，或者是企图重新把现代的生产资料和交换手段硬塞到已被它们突破而且必然被突破的旧的所有制关系的框子里去。它在这两种场合都是反动的，同时又是空想的”（马克思等，1995：298）。“这一思潮在它以后的发展中变成了一种怯懦的悲叹”（马克思等，1995：298）。改革开放以来，我国对外经济合作和贸易往来以及文化交流的规模空前扩大，各种思潮充斥在社会中。邓小平曾在《党在组织战线和思想战线上的迫切任务》一文中批驳过一些错误的思潮，他认为：“有些人大肆鼓吹西方所谓‘现代派’思潮，公开宣扬文学艺术的最高目的就是‘表现自我’，或者宣传抽象的人性论、人道主义，认为所谓社会主义条件下人的异化应当成为创作的主题，个别的作品还宣传色情”（邓小平，1993：43）。“现在有些同志对于西方各种哲学的、经济学的、社会政治的和文学艺术的思潮，不分析、不鉴别、不批判，而是一窝蜂地盲目推崇”（邓小平，1993：44）。这些精神污染祸国殃民，“它在人民中混淆是非界线，造成消积涣散、离心离德的情绪，腐蚀人们的灵魂和意志，主张形形色色的个人主义思想泛滥，助长一部分人当中怀疑以致否定社会主义和党的领导的思潮”（邓小平，1993：44）。认真分析、批判、抵制各种反动思潮，是马克思主义者的一项重要任务。因此，我们要自觉克服不良思潮的影响，积极学习进步思潮。
