定义

社会结构主要是指各种文化要素形成的不同社会形态，表现为一个社会中诸因素稳定的布局。社会结构一词由英国人类学家拉德克利夫·布朗创用，他认为社会结构作为文化的一部分，是社会人类学研究的主要对象。后来，这一概念在人类学和社会学研究中被用来泛指整体社会中要素或单位的相互联系及其模式（简明文化人类学词典）。恩格斯在《共产党宣言》1883年德文版序言中说：“每一历史时代的经济生产以及必然由此产生的社会结构，是该时代政治的和精神的历史的基础”（马克思等，1995：252）。普列汉诺夫在《马克思主义的基本问题》一书中，曾将马克思的社会结构理论归纳成“五项式”，即生产力的状况；被生产力所制约的经济关系；在一定的经济基础上生长起来的社会政治制度；一部分由经济直接所决定的，一部分由生长在经济上的全部社会政治制度决定的社会中的人的心理；反映这种心理特征的各种思想体系。在不同的生产资料所有制基础上建立起来的社会结构的性质是不同的，它从根本上决定了人与人的相互关系。在阶级社会中，社会各阶级、阶层之间的关系，成为社会结构的主要表现形式。此外，社会结构还指社会生活各个方面具体结构的总和。包括：工业结构、农业结构、财政信贷结构、人口结构、家庭结构、阶级结构、政治法律结构、文化结构、宗教结构、民族结构等等。这些结构互相作用、互相制约，形成社会总体结构（金炳华，2003：296）。社会结构使社会生活中的各个具体制度、规范要求与系统的协调匹配，分配社会的基本权利与义务，规导通过社会合作所产生的各种利益分配，塑造社会文化的基本内容及使社会成员共享这种文化的基本方式，进而培育与塑造社会成员个体自身（朱贻庭，2002：258）。
