定义

道德教育是道德活动的重要形式之一，可以从广义和狭义两个层次上进行理解。从广义上说，道德教育，就是一定社会、阶级或组织，为了使人们遵循其行为准则，自觉履行对社会整体和他人应尽的义务，而对人们施加系统的道德影响的活动。从狭义上说，道德教育仅仅是指学校、家庭、团体、单位等社会组织，为了达到一定的教育目标，而对教育对象传授道德知识、施加道德影响，以期使他们在自己的指导下提高道德认识、陶冶道德情操、锻炼道德意志、确立道德信念、养成道德习惯，培养他们按照教育者的教育目标和期望自觉地进行道德实践的能力和意识的活动（赵清文，2005：27）。道德教育过程为：首先向人们传授道德知识和讲解道德理论，从而帮助受教育者提高道德认识，最后形成道德行为习惯。道德教育作为一种相对独立的教育实体，有着自己的特点，主要包括：（1）超越性。所谓超越性，是指道德教育所具有的超越现实的本性；（2）双向性。即指道德教育活动中主体和客体的相互作用、相互影响；（3）多端性。一般来说，道德教育的起点是提高人们的道德认识，但是，不同的历史时期、不同的社会环境的道德关系状况是不同的，不同的受教育者的生活经验和原有品质。要根据不同的情况区别对待，选择最需解决又最能奏效的环节作为道德教育的起点（张泰来，2006：124）。
