伦理学用语，是人所特有的一种高级情感，道德品质的一个重要组成部分。它是一个人对自己或他人的动机、言行是否符合社会一定的道德行为准则而产生的一种内心体验。例如对符合道德行为准则的行为，即会产生满意、愉快、心安理得等内心体验；反之，则会产生愤怒、厌恶、羞愧等内心体验。道德感是一种高级情感。同情、反感、眷恋、疏远、尊敬、轻视、感激、爱、憎、背信弃义等属于道德感同志感、友谊感、爱国主义感、集体主义感也属于道德感。人们对道德需要是否得到实现或满足所产生的体验。它和道德信念、道德判断密切相关。因而具有明显的社会性和阶级性。英国莎夫茨伯利认为道德感是一种特别的情感反应，它对德行的感应与对艺术中的美的感应相似。一种行为通过道德感的检验可以表现出它是否有利于人类的和谐。亚当·斯密把道德感与人的良心或义务联系起来，认为由于同情与仁慈的普遍本性，人会经常检验自己的行为，并通过公正的旁观者的客观标准以纠正自己的错误，达到行为的正确。道德感按其形式可分为：(1)直觉的道德情绪经验；(2)与具体的道德形象相联系的情绪体验；(3)意识到道德理论的情绪体验。作为一种主观形态和冲动形态的道德，道德感具有得道感、敬重情感、义务感三个方面的基本特质（樊浩，2006：7-9）。
