定义

“理论联系实际”是对马克思主义普遍真理同革命和建设的具体实践相结合原则的概括表述，是马克思主义最基本的原则之一。其基本精神是达到主观和客观、理论和实践、知和行的具体的历史的统一。对于理论联系实际的重要性问题，马克思主义经典作家曾经有过许多论述。早在1937年，毛泽东在《实践论》中通过阐述认识与实践的辩证关系，特别是通过引证斯大林的那段话:“理论若不和革命实践联系起来，就会变成无对象的理论，同样，实践若不以革命理论为指南,就会变成盲目的实践”（毛泽东，1991：293）。1941年3月，毛泽东在为《农村调查》一书写的序言中直接使用了“理论和实际相联系”的提法。他说:“对于只懂得理论不懂得实际情况的人，这种调查工作尤有必要，否则他们就不能将理论和实际相联系”（毛泽东，1991：791）。1941年5月，毛泽东在《改造我们的学习》一文中把是否实行理论联系实际的原则，提高到党性纯与不纯、完全与不完全以至有没有党性的高度来认识。在长期的革命斗争中，理论联系实际成为了中国共产党三大优良作风（理论联系实际、密切联系群众、批评和自我批评）之一。总体上看，理论联系实际包括三层意思：其一，必须善于把握和运用对实际具有方法论意义或直接指导意义的科学理论；其二，必须在科学理论的指导下认真开展对实际问题的调查和研究；其三，理论联系实际的最终结果，不仅要求切实解决各方面的问题，而且要求将实践经验上升为新的理论（陈占安，2003：1-3）。
