定义

农业生产，如果根据农业生产对象的不同，可以将农业分为种植业、畜牧业、林业、渔业和副业；如果根据世界主要农业地域类型分类，可以将其归属为畜牧业和种植业，而同时经营种植业和畜牧业的农业称为混合农业；如果根据投入多少分类可分为粗放农业和密集农业。粗放农业投入的生产资料或者劳动力较少，一般分布在地广人稀、自然条件较为恶劣、生产力水平低下的地区，扩大土地面积成为增加农业产出的主要手段，相反，密集农业如果投入的生产资料或者劳动力较多，用提高单位面积产量的方法来增加农业的产出。农业生产的对象为动植物，自然条件通常要求热量，光照，水，地形，土壤等条件。农业生产的特点主要为：地域性、季节性和周期性。农业生产的地域性要求人们在进行生产的时候因地制宜。在空间分布上具有明显的地域差异，由于生产对象的动植物在不同的自然条件，例如热量，光照，水，地形，土壤等不同，在不同的地方，农业生产的产品结构品种和数量都是不同的，而且世界各地的自然条件各不相同，技术政策水平也不相同，差异很大。农业生产的季节性和周期性要求因时制宜、不违农时。动植物有其自身的的生长发育规律，并且受自然因素的影响。自然因素随季节而变化，并有一定的周期（农业生产.via：http://baike.baidu.com/view/834246.htm）。
