定义

经济制度是指国家的统治阶级为了反映在社会中占统治地位的生产关系的发展要求，建立、维护和发展有利于其政治统治的经济秩序，而确认或创设的各种有关经济问题的规则和措施的总称。经济制度是社会生产关系的总和，有什么样的生产力就有什么样的生产关系，也就有什么样的经济制度。经济制度构成一个社会的经济基础，它决定其政治制度和社会意识形态，并受到政治法律制度的保护。先进的社会经济制度，会推动生产力的发展和社会的进步；落后的社会经济制度，会阻碍生产力的发展和社会的进步。经济制度是组织社会经济活动的根本原则，是在社会经济活动的一定（或全部）范围内，人们普遍承认，并且实际共同遵守着的一种行为规范。按照马克思主义关于人类社会发展阶段的学说，人类历史上经历了五种依次更替的经济制度，即原始公社经济制度、奴隶制经济制度、封建制经济制度、资本主义经济制度和社会主义经济制度（via: http://baike.so.com/doc/6012073-6225060.html）。中国的经济制度是在社会主义初级阶段，坚持公有制为主体、多种所有制经济共同发展的基本经济制度。这种社会主义经济制度有利于发展社会生产力，有利于增强国家的综合国力，有利于提高人们的生活水平。此外，有时经济制度也指一定社会各个经济部门和领域的各种具体的规章制度。
