定义

财富一般是指某个社会或国家在一定时间内所拥有的物质资料的总和。它包括一切积累的劳动产品。例如，生产资料和个人消费资料和用于生产过程的自然资源：如土地、矿藏、森林、水源等，都可以称为物质财富。除此之外，还有精神财富，由一个国家所拥有的科学理论、文艺作品和文化遗产等构成。“无论是物质财富还是精神财富，归根到底都是劳动人民创造的”（刘佩弦，1988：341）。“财富具有重要的经济功能、政治功能和社会功能，是研究社会经济不平等、社会分层和社会流动的重要经济指标”（谢宇等，2014：4）。财富与社会总产品不同，财富是在历史过程中积累的，它包括现时拥有的一切物质资料，而社会总产品则则指一定时期内社会所生产的物质资料（刘佩弦，1988：341）。
