定义

微观世界是同宏观世界相对的关于微观物体、微观现象的总称。微观物体一般包括原子、原子核和各种基本粒子。分子是物质中能够独立存在并保持该物质一切化学性质的最小微粒。分子由原子组成，分子中原子的种类、数量以及空间排列形式决定着物质的物理和化学性质。原子是构成单质和化合物分子的最小微粒，由带正电荷的原子核和绕核运动着的、带负电荷的电子所组成，是自然界各种物质形态的基本化学单位。原子核是原子的核心部分，是质子和中子的紧密结合体。原子核在一般的化学反应中不发生变化。原子核的稳定性是由于核内的质子和中子之间、质子和质子之间、中子和中子之间有一种强大的核力作用。基本粒子包括电子、中子、质子、光子以及在宇宙射线和高能原子核实验中发现的一系列粒子。已经发现的300多种基本粒子，多数是不稳定的共振态粒子。按照基本粒子的质量大小及其性质的差别，可分为光子、轻子、介子、重子四类。粒子之间存在着强相互作用和弱相互作用，并按一定方式相互转化，是一个具有无限多自由度的体系（金炳华，2003：371）。微观现象一般指微粒子和场的运动变化所发生的种种现象，如原子核的聚合与分裂、光电效应、基本粒子相互转化等。在微观世界中，物质形态及其运动规律有着明显的特点，比如任何一个微粒子都呈现显著的量子现象和波粒二象性，都是波与粒子、连续与间断的辩证统一体。尽管微观世界有不同的特性，但它和宏观世界一样，都具有一定的物质结构、时空关系和运动的规律性，它在更深的层次上，进一步揭示了物质的多样性和统一性（许征帆，1987）。主观唯心主义认为，凡直接感觉不到的电子、原子等东西，都是纯粹思维的东西。形而上学唯物主义则认为，世界是有限的，原子是不可分的。马克思主义哲学认为，无论是宏观世界还是微观世界，它们都统一于物质，都是离开人的意识而独立存在的不断运动着的客观物质世界，都是客观实在，并且都是无限的、可分的，在时间和空间上都是不能穷尽的。
