定义

普遍真理亦译“一般真理”。反映各种事物或一类事物的普遍规律的真理。是人们在长期的实践—认识—实践的过程中，按照从个别、特殊到一般，再由一般到特殊、个别的认识秩序，反复多次而获得的。并且只有在这一循环往复的过程中，才能不断地获得和发展普遍真理。它不是抽象真理，而是关于各种事物或某一类事物的共同规律的科学总结，是包含特殊于自身的具体的普遍，或普遍的具体。它必须与特殊的具体情况相结合。普遍真理能帮助人们正确地认识事物的本质和规律，预见事物发展的趋势，是指导人们行动的指南，但它必须同具体实际相结合，才能发挥作用。经验主义把局部经验当成普遍真理，教条主义把普遍真理看作僵死的教条，都是错误的。要坚持马克思主义的普遍真理同具体实践相结合的原则（金炳华等，2001：1103）。
