无产阶级夺取政权的条件和形式，指只有当“下面”不愿照旧生活而“上面”也不能照旧统治的时候，革命才能获得胜利。无产阶级要进行革命，单是被剥削被压迫群众感到不能照旧生活下去而要求变革，还是不够的；要举行革命，还必须要剥削者也不能照旧生活和照旧统治下去。也就是说，没有全国性的危机，革命是不可能的。（1）被压迫阶级大多数有觉悟、有思想、政治上积极的工人充分认识到有进行革命的必要，且抱有为革命牺牲的决心；（2）统治阶级不可能照旧不变地维持自己的统治，“上层”的某种危机，即统治阶级的政治危机，给被压迫阶级愤怒和不满造成一个爆破的缺口。在马克思主义者看来，没有革命形势，就不可能有革命，但并不是任何革命形势都将引起革命。在不同的国家，无产阶级进行革命的条件和采取革命的方式是有所不同的。“中国的革命战争，虽然是处在中国和资本主义世界的反动时期，然而是能够胜利的，因为它有共产党的领导和农民的援助”（毛泽东，1991：190）。中国革命的最终胜利离不开农民群众的支持。在中国，离开了武装斗争，就没有无产阶级和共产党的地位，就不能完成任何革命任务。
