定义

一个中国原则是在中国人民捍卫中国主权和领土完整的正义斗争中形成的，具有不可动摇的事实和法理基础，既是是我们解决台湾问题的坚定原则，也是两岸全体同胞的最高利益所在。该原则其包含多重含义，但最核心的内容是台湾和大陆同属一个中国的主权不容分割，这是因为国家主权是一个国家人民最核心的利益所在，而中华民族伟大复兴应包括台湾和台湾同胞在内。中华民族和国家的统一是两岸人民的长远的利益，因此也是最高利益。为此，“只有在承认一个中国原则的意识认同的基础上，双方才可能存在政治对话的相互信任的政治基础；才可能存在达成共识，取得成果的可能性。两岸政治对话才有意义。否则，两岸政治对话将成为台独势力利用的工具。”（王晓明，2006：17）《反分裂国家法》第五条明确规定：坚持一个中国原则，是实现祖国和平统一的基础。以和平方式实现祖国统一，最符合台湾海峡两岸同胞的根本利益。
