定义

在认识论上，与“谬误”同义，同“真理”相对（廖盖隆，1993：299-300）。错误是指人的主观认识与客观实际不一致，以及在实际行动上受盲目必然性所支配并违背客观规律（金炳华，冯契，2001：197）。错误是在人的认识过程中产生的。“人的认识要受历史条件、阶级地位等多方面的制约，对事物的认识是一个由感性到理性的复杂过程，这些都给人的认识带来了脱离乃至歪曲客观现实的可能性，而具备着一定的条件，使这种可能性变成现实，从而不可避免地产生错误”（廖盖隆，1993：299-300）。错误可主要归纳为五种：片面性错误、表面性错误、僵死性错误、主观性错误和逻辑性错误。“在人类认识和实践的发展过程中，错误作为真理的对立面是不可避免的，同时还应当要勇于发现错误，及时纠正错误”（廖盖隆，1993：299-300）。
