《布鲁塞尔笔记》是马克思在1845年至1849年进行经济学的系统研究期间所写的书稿之一。马克思的第一次政治经济学研究是1844年写下的《巴黎笔记》和《1844年经济学哲学手稿》，而第二次研究政治经济学的成果之一就是《布鲁塞尔笔记》。1845年2月3日马克思被巴黎当局驱逐，迁往比利时的布鲁塞尔。在到达布鲁塞尔之后，马克思再次全身心投入研究政治经济学，开始了他的1845年至1849年的第二次经济学的系统研究。1845年2月，马克思先写下《布鲁塞尔笔记》前期摘录笔记，共三册，之后又写下了《评李斯特》以及《关于关于费尔巴哈的提纲》，实现了他哲学思想革命的突破，自觉地走向马克思主义新科学的全面建构。而在1845年5—7月，马克思在布鲁塞尔继续他的政治经济学研究，写下了《布鲁塞尔笔记》后期摘录，共四册（张一兵，1999：11）。
