摩诃摩耶经【英】

Mahamaya Sutra

佛教经典。此经先述释迦牟尼上升到忉利天为其生母摩耶夫人说法，后述释迦牟尼临般涅槃时摩耶夫人从忉利天下降，与他诀别。此经提到佛灭后的佛法传承世系：迦叶—阿难—优婆掬多—尸罗难陀(200年)—青莲花眼(300年)—牛口(400年)—宝天(500年)—马鸣(600年)—龙树(700年)。

A Buddhist classic, the first part of which depicts the story of Shakyamuni’s ascension to the Trayastrimshas(the Indra heaven or Heaven of thirty-three) to preach the laws for his biological mother, Lady Maya; the second part, concerning the story of Lady Maya’s descension from the Trayastrimshas to have a farewell to Shakyamuni when he came to Parinirvana(extreme stillness and extinction). It also mentioned the transmission of pedigree since the Parinirvana of Shakyamuni,which is Kashyapa, Ananda, Upagupta, Shila Nanda(200 years later), Uppalaka-eye Bhikshu(300 years later), Bull-mouth Bhikshu(400 years later), RatnadevaBhikshu(500 years later), AsvaghosaBodhisattvas(600 years later) and Nagarjuna Bodhisattva(700 years later).
