定义

库恩用语，指在一定范式指导下所从事的科学研究，有时亦指进行这一研究的整个阶段。范式是科学界公认的指导思想，起定向作用，科学家在范式的框架下进行研究，即按照一定的模式思考，并不断提高范式的精确性。常规科学的存在形态基本是稳定的、内涵丰富的知识体系。但是，当范式扩展到一定程度，其生命力便逐渐耗尽，应付不了日益增多的“反常”，使常规科学陷入危机（常规科学和科学革命.via：http://book.duxiu.com/EncyDetail.jsp?dxid=900008400865&d=8EC73CC9CDB367DBE9F87104E219288A）。在《科学革命的结构》中，库恩曾有意无意地通过“常规科学”概念表达了一种新的、类似于维特根斯坦“语言游戏”的方案。“按‘常规科学’的表达，科学是一种循规蹈矩的‘解难题’作业。当然，科学也在演变，只不过演变的起点和终点都是平静的常规科学，中间会经历反常、危机和革命。当共同体成员一旦就新的范式达成共识时，就会从骚动回归平静，进入新一轮的常规作业”（于爽，2012：79）。这种范式的转换，即从旧的常规科学阶段到新的常规科学阶段的变革，就是科学革命。
