定义

纯粹民主，又称“一般民主”，指不受限制的全民可以享受的民主。纯粹民主是国际共产主义运动中修正主义者以及资产阶级思想家所热衷宣扬的观点，是对资产阶级民主的粉饰，抹煞了民主的阶级性（王邦左，2009：376）。纯粹民主这一概念为第二国际机会主义者考茨基明确提出。在1918年出版的《无产阶级专政》一书中，考茨基歪曲马克思主义国家学说，反对暴力革命，把资产阶级民主说成是全民意志的体现，攻击无产阶级专政（向洪，1992：174）。考茨基的观点遭到列宁的尖锐批判。列宁指出“‘纯粹民主’是自由主义者用来愚弄工人的谎话”，“只要有不同的阶级存在，就不能说‘纯粹民主’，而只能说阶级的民主”（列宁，1985：243）。纯粹民主是不存在的。作为一种政治制度，民主为一定经济基础决定，并为之服务，因而，民主具有强烈的阶级性，是维护统治阶级根本利益的手段。资产阶级民主，相较于以往的任何民主，是生产资料私有制条件下最完备的民主，但其本质上仍是资产阶级进行阶级压迫的手段。社会主义民主，是建立在生产资料公有制基础上、为广大群众享有的真正的民主，不同于一切剥削阶级的民主，具有空前的广泛性。然而，社会主义民主只适用于人民内部，也不是绝对的纯粹的民主（廖盖隆，1993：352）。因而，纯粹民主是抹杀民主的阶级性的谬论。
