定义

国民收入是一国的物质生产部门的劳动者在一定时期(通常为一年)内新创造价值的总和。从物质形态看，它等于社会总产品减去同期消耗的生产资料。从价值形态看，它等于社会总产品的价值减去同期消耗的生产资料的价值，即体现在社会总产品中的全部可变资本价值加剩余价值（v + m）。国民收入是由各个物质生产部门的劳动者创造的。主要部门有：工业、农业、矿业、林业、畜牧业、建筑业，以及为生产服务的交通运输业、邮电业等。商业部门中的分类、包装、保管等劳动，也创造国民收入。国民收入的多少是一国国民经济发展状况的重要综合指标。一国的社会经济越发达，国民收入越多；一国的社会经济越不发达，国民收入就越少。
　国民收入是一个国家的经济实力的标志。国民收入分配是否合理，对国民经济的发展有重要影响。国民收入分配分为初次分配和再分配。初次分配是在物质生产领域内部进行的，它将国民收入分为必要产品和剩余产品两部分；再分配是在初次分配的基础上进行的，它不仅包括物质生产领域，也包括非物质生产领域。国民收入的再分配是通过利润、税收、工资、利息、价格等经济杠杆来实现的。经过分配和再分配，国民收入归结为积累和消费两个方面，形成积累基金和消费基金。积累基金用于扩大再生产，进行非生产性建设和建立物资储备；消费基金用于居民个人消费和社会集体消费。国民收入作为国民经济的一个综合指标，它反映着一个国家在一定时期进行扩大再生产和提高人民生活水平的能力。国民收入的增长，反映着国民经济的增长速度。
