定义

消费革命，是指人们的消费结构、消费习惯、消费方式等方面的深刻变化。产业革命与科技革命促成了消费革命的出现。有些人将消费革命的进程划分为了四个阶段。第一阶段主要是指：家务电气化革命，以黑白电视机、洗衣机、电冰箱的普及为代表。第二阶段是指：家庭文明化革命，以彩色电视机、空调机以及小汽车的普及为代表。第三阶段是指：家庭节约化革命，此时居民已具备各类消费品，节约成了家庭消费的中心问题，要求产品质量高、形美、色优。第四阶段是指：家庭自动化革命，家用计算机普及，实行家务劳动自动化。大量普及装配式住宅，新型通讯网普及到每个家庭（刘诗白等，2000：2539）。在现代，科学技术不断地发展进步，社会生产力迅速发展，人们的消费欲望大大增加，新的消费资料不断代替旧的消费资料，一种或者几种新的消费品在消费者中迅速普及，那么家庭的消费方式和消费结构发生明显的阶段性变化，进而是社会的消费方式和消费结构发生明显的阶段性变化，进而引起产品结构、产业结构的调整和经济的飞速发展。在社会主义国家，消费革命对于国民经济的发展起到了指出方向的作用。消费革命有利于社会生产充分适应市场需要，并且注意国民经济的重要比例关系，调整国民经济各部门和企业的产品结构，调整社会劳动和社会收入的分配比例，最后实现社会生产同社会需求分别在总量上和结构上的平衡。
