定义

共同富裕（common prosperity, prosperity for all）属于经济学领域的概念，应该用经济学方面的知识来定义。富就是表示占有财产多，富裕表示拥有的金钱、物资、房屋、土地等等的数量多。贫困就是拥有的金钱、物资、房屋、土地等等的数量少。“共同富裕”不是同一时刻、同一地点、同一等级的富裕，不能说是“同时富裕、同步富裕、同等富裕”，而是一部分人一部分地区先富起来，先富的帮助后富的，逐步实现共同富裕。“平均主义”就是平均消费生存资料，或者说是平均拥有生存资料，也就是平均拥有社会财富。其过分的追求了主观的完全同步性。可见，“共同富裕”不是“平均主义”的代名词。共同富裕是以物质的共同富裕为基础的，这是共同富裕的最重要的内容。然而，仅有物质生活的富裕，这种富裕与现代文明是相背离的。高度的物质文明和高度的精神文明，既是我国共同富裕现代化的重要内容,也是我国共同富裕的主要内容。邓小平指出：“要在建设高度物质文明的同时，提高全民族的科学文化水平，发展高尚的丰富多彩的文化生活，建设高度的社会主义精神文明。”他认为，物质生活的富裕、精神文化生活的丰富、人的自身文明素质的提高，这几方面有机结合，才能构成社会主义共同富裕的鲜明特征（《共同富裕》，via: http://baike.so.com/doc/5398694-5636117.html）。总的来说，共同富裕是一个过程，共同富裕是社会主义的根本原则。共同富裕就是指党和政府鼓励一部分人、一部分地区通过诚实劳动和合法经营先富起来，形成示范效应，并通过先富者带动和帮助后富者，逐步实现共同富裕（《共同富裕》，via: http://wenda.so.com/q/1354296078125868?src=150）。
