全名为中国共产党第十一届中央委员会第三次全体会议，1978年12月18日至22日在北京举行。出席会议的中央委员169人，候补中央委员112人，会议由时任中共中央主席华国锋主持。这次会议解决的主要问题是：第一，重新确立了党的马克思主义的思想路线。全会坚决批判了“两个凡是”的错误方针，高度评价了关于真理标准问题的讨论，确定了解放思想、开动脑筋、实事求是、团结一致向前看的指导方针。第二，重新确立了马克思主义的政治路线。全会果断地停止使用“以阶级斗争为纲”和“无产阶级专政下继续革命”的口号，作出把工作重点转移到社会主义现代化建设上来的战略决策，并富有远见地提出对党和国家各个方面的工作进行改革的任务。第三，重新确立了正确的组织路线。提出要健全社会主义民主和加强社会主义法制的任务，审查和解决了党的历史上一批重大冤假错案和一些重要领导人的功过是非问题，纠正了过去对彭德怀、陶铸、薄一波、杨尚昆等同志所作的错误结论。全会增选陈云为中共中央副主席，邓颖超、胡耀邦、王震为中央政治局委员，并选举产生了以陈云为首的中央纪律检查委员（via：http://www.people.com.cn/GB/shizheng/252/5301/5302/20010613/488120.html）。十一届三中全会结束了粉碎“四人帮”之后两年中党的工作在徘徊中前进的局面，实现了建国以来党的历史的伟大转折，实现了思想路线、政治路线、组织路线的拨乱反正，将党领导的社会主义事业引向健康发展的道路。
