定义

人本学也叫人本主义，是一种把人理解为只是生物学上的自然人的形而上学唯物主义。人本学唯心主义是一种宣扬非理性主义和种族主义的法西斯主义反动谬论。我们通常所说的人本主义是指人本学唯物主义。人本学唯物主义是一个以人本的形而上学唯物主义的表现形式。它的主要代表人物是十九世纪德国唯物主义哲学家费尔巴哈（1804-1872）和俄国革命民主主义者车尔尼雪夫斯基（1828-1889）。费尔巴哈把自己的唯物主义哲学称作“人本主义”或“哲学中的人本主义原则”。他之所以避免甚至反对采用“唯物主义”这一术语，是因为他把一般的唯物主义同庸俗的唯物主义混为一谈。费尔巴哈和车尔尼雪夫斯基都反对把人分为灵魂和肉体两个独立的实体、并把灵魂看作第一性的唯心主义观点。他们认为：人是哲学问题的核心，是自然界的一部分；思维和存在的关系，就是人的思想和身体的关系，身体是第一性的，没有身体也就没有思想，人的感觉经验是认识的唯一来源，是客观事物的反映，人本学唯物主义批判了思想脱离人的头脑的黑格尔唯心主义，反驳了万能上帝存在的宗教迷信观点，恢复了唯物主义的权威，它在欧洲哲学发展的历史上曾起过进步作用（《哲学名词解释》编写组，1974：22）。但是人本学唯物主义所理解的人是抽象的、一般的人，是同具体的历史和社会实践不相联系的人，因而他们看不到人的社会性。所以列宁认为，人本学“都只是关于唯物主义的不确切的、肤浅的表述”（列宁，1990：58）。人本学唯物主义不理解人的主观能动性，不理解人改变世界的革命实践，把人的活动看做是消极、直观的。
