定义

科学抽象是正确反映客观事物本质，逐次形成概念、范畴、规律及一般原理的认识过程，是从经验到理论、从旧理论到新理论的必由之路，深人研究科学抽象的内在机制、层次和界限，使认识过程日益精确化、规范，对于任何一门科学研究都具有重要意义。科学抽象是认知主体的能动活动，具体表现为认知主体分析能力、综合能力的正确运用。科学抽象的进程可分为两个阶段：其一是从感性的具体上升到抽象的规定；其二是从抽象的规定上升到思维中的具体。在第一阶段，认知主体运用其分析能力先将多样性统一的事物整体分解为各个部分和方面，然后从中排除其非本质的、次要的和偶然的成分，抽取出某一部分和方面或不同部分和方面的本质规定。在第二阶段,认知主体运用其综合能力按照不同部分和方面的本质规定的内在联系，将它们连接为一个统一的整体，达到思维中的具体。马克思将这一过程称之为“抽象的规定在思维行程中导致具体的再现”。科学抽象所运用的分析和综合能力，人们习惯上称之为分析和综合的方法。其实，能力和方法二者是不同的。能力是人脑先天的机能加后天的经验，是二者有机结合，方法则是完全后验的，是后天学而知之的。能力包括方法在其中，并随着认识和实践的不断深化而日益增强。能力是主观能动性的发，包含着主体创造性的成分。方法是客观事物的规律在主观中的反映，它需要认知主体的正确运用和把握（滑云龙，2000：9）。总之，科学抽象是认知主体的能动的活动。科学结论的形成需要认知主体正确地把握科学抽象的内在机制，辩证地运用其分析和综合能力、充分地发挥其创造想象力的作用。同时，也需要认知主体在实践中不断地研究和探索客观事物的深刻本质，并根据自己的学科领域来确定科学抽象的层次和界限。这样将两者结合起来有利于发挥科学抽象功能、完成科学抽象过程。
