定义

行为主义心理学（behavioristic psychology）是以研究行为为中心的西方现代心理学主要流派之一。20世纪初行为主义心理学起源于美国，曾风行于心理学界。桑代克的联结主义和巴甫洛夫的条件反射学说行为主义心理学的直接思想来源。其创始人为J．B．华生，1913年，他在美国的《心理学评论》杂志上发表的《行为主义者心目中心理学》—文标志行为主义心理学的正式成立。行为主义心理学的发展分为两个阶段：早期行为主义阶段，约从1913年至1930年，以华生为代表；新行为主义阶段，约从1930年开始，以托尔曼、赫尔、斯金纳等为主要代表（李庆臻，1986，via： http://book.duxiu.com/EncyDetail.jsp?dxid=900006158231&d=87295E75B66346C454C47850D3EEED40）。行为主义心理学贬低或限制意识的作用，主张探索人的行为规律。行为主义心理学者“坚决反对研究任何主观的意识经验，主张心理学是研究人和动物客观行为的自然科学，认为行为是有机体对各种环境刺激的不同反应，一切反应都是肌肉的收缩和腺体的分泌，只有外显与内隐之别，提出了刺激—反应（S—R）的基本行为公式”（高清海，1988：266）。行为主义心理学的积极意义在于它改变了心理学的进程，填补了心理学研究行为的空缺，强调了环境对人的影响，提倡了客观的研究方法，促进了应用心理学的发展。但其不可避免的缺陷是把人归结为动物、把心理归结为行为，具有机械论和还原论的倾向（车文博，2001：79）。
