《社会存在本体论》匈牙利卢卡奇著。写于1964—1970年，是作者的未完成著作。1971至1973年在联邦德国用德文首次出版。1976年在布达佩斯出版匈文译本，后又被译成英文等多种文字。编入德文本《卢卡奇全集》第13卷。全书共3卷，标题为“黑格尔的错误和真正的本体论”、“马克思的本体论的基本原理”、“劳动”。该书力图“清算”作者过去的错误，总结作者走向马克思主义的理论发展过程，改变传统哲学体系，创建一种社会存在的本体论学说。认为几个世纪以来，认识论一直在哲学领域占据着统治地位，而当代哲学发展却日益要求从本体论上去研究世界的普遍联系问题，故必须建立和发展“社会存在本体论”。把存在分为无机自然、有机自然和社会三大类型，认为这三种类型的并存是人类实践的基础，实践是构成社会存在起源的关键。改变原有把自然界本体论作为从属因素归入社会本体论的观点，认为“社会存在的本体论只能建立在自然界本体论的基础之上”，社会存在本体论向唯物主义的转折要通过发现经济过程在社会存在中的本体论第一性来实现。纠正了作者过去在《历史和阶级意识》中否定自然辩证法的存在的观点，肯定辩证法不是单纯的认识原则，而是一种现实的客观规律性，不仅适用于社会存在，而且适用于整个存在。没有无机界和自然界的本体论“前史”，辩证法在社会中是不可能存在的。“从本体论意义上理解的辩证法，如果不是普遍的，那就是无意义的”。全书的重点是对劳动原理的阐述，认为人的生存首先是人同自然的物质交换，劳动在社会存在方面有首要的和基本的意义。劳动不仅是社会存在的特殊本质，是社会实践的典型形式，而且是语言和分工等等的源泉。在劳动的基础上对义务和价值的判断进行分析。认为劳动意味着一种目的论设计的实现，既包含着目的又包含着实现目的的手段，正是在这里出现了义务或“应当”的必然性。关于自由的学说、伦理学的基本原理，只有在劳动的基础上才能得到合理的阐发。该书被认为是卢卡奇生平最重要的著作之一。（金炳华，2003：984）
