定义

控制论指研究各类系统的调节和控制规律的科学。“控制论”一词最初来源希腊文“mberuhhtz”，原意为“操舵术”，就是掌舵的方法和技术的意思。在柏拉图的著作中，经常用它来表示管理的艺术。自从1948年诺伯特·维纳发表了著名的《控制论——关于在动物和机器中控制和通讯的科学》一书以来，控制论的思想和方法已经渗透到了几乎所有的自然科学和社会科学领域。维纳把控制论看作是一门研究机器、生命社会中控制和通讯的一般规律的科学，是研究动态系统在变的环境条件下如何保持平衡状态或稳定状态的科学（汪道胜，2009：19）。在苏联，早期有过一段反控制论运动时期,那时它被视为唯心的，反动的伪科学。斯大林死后，控制论不仅得到彻底的平反，而且受到追捧以致神化，例如曾被写入苏联党章，尊为国家科学。20世纪50年代以后，是控制力的发展时期。1954年，我国科学家钱学森在美国运用那个控制论的思想和方法，首创了工程控制论，把控制论推广到工程技术领域，接着神经控制论、生物控制论问世，到20世纪60至70年代，又相继出现了经济控制论和社会控制论（巫影等，2001：134）。直抵今日，控制论已渗透到众多热门的研究领域，如计算机、自动控制、航天航空、通讯工程、人工智能、经济管理等等。
