科学问题是指一定时代的科学家在特定的知识背景下提出的关于科学知识和科学实践中需要解决而尚未解决的问题。它包括一定的求解目标和应答域，但尚无确定的答案，所以，我们可以尽最大的努力去寻找，去探索。科学问题的来源是多方面的，但归结起来，现代科学研究的科学问题主要来源于科学技术实践和社会生产实践。从科学技术实践中所提出的科学问题大多是科学自身发展中的问题。从社会生产实践中提出的科学问题大多是实用性或技术性问题（科学问题.via：http://baike.baidu.com/link?url=NWLk5P3TLQOp8BqbagLjvxn3x0WvoU4P4SOGGzf2eD2al11L4pZX-dnEn8v2fuU1aafzZZuRwQGCOfyVxh4dSa）。科学问题可能更多的是一些不是实际的问题。科学家开展工作的过程就是描述和解释的过程，与其他行当的区别就在于，科学家描述和解释的方法在于观察与实验，它与宗教有着本质的区别。宗教用来描述和解释的方法是想象。所以培根的“实证法”被爱因斯坦认为是现代科学的两大支柱之一。可见，科学问题就是可以被实证的，在观察与实验后进行描述和解释的过程中，通过对科学背景知识的分析而产生的问题。人们在科学研究中，通过对科学背景知识的认真思索和分析，从中发现各种矛盾，它是现有人类认识未解决的矛盾，这种矛盾或疑难，就是科学所要研究的问题，也即不同于上述简单问题的科学问题（科学问题.via: http://baike.sogou.com/v47558.htm?fromTitle=科学问题）。
