Three-Faced Coronet

三个圆盘形装饰物的菩萨头冠称作三面宝冠。是敦煌北朝石窟中出现最多的菩萨头冠,但三面宝冠往往还有更丰富的装饰物,如日月装饰,忍冬纹装饰等。

It is a Bodhisattva’s crown with three disc-shaped ornaments. It is the most common Bodhisattva’s crown found in the Dunhuang grottoes from the Northern Dynasties. However, the three-faced coronet tends to have plentiful ornamentation, including luni-solar decorations and honeysuckle pattern decorations.
