定义

形而上学社会理论是指用孤立、静止、片面的观点考察社会发展的理论、和学说。形而上学社会理论是将哲学中的形而上学方法论运用于社会学理论、政治学理论等，持有形而上学社会理论的学者否认人类社会的发展变化，将资本主义制度静止化、孤立化、绝对化。除此之外，持有形而上学社会理论的学者用社会外部的客观条件去解释说明社会变化的原因，比如“天不变，道亦不变”的观点否认社会革命。形而上学社会理论曾经长期为封建统治阶级所拥护。俄国的经济派主张的自发论和“经济唯物主义”，就是“将社会发展进程中的客观因素和主观因素、经济与政治、自觉性与自发性、经济基础与上层建筑之间的辩证关系，人为地加以割裂”（金炳华，2003：281）。
