定义

德国黑格尔用语。是排在“根据”之后的一个逻辑范畴，意即现实存在的事物。实存的特点在于它不仅是孤立自存的，是自身反思的，而且依赖他物，映现于他物之中。每个实际存在的事物既是此物的结果，又是彼物的根据。各个实际存在的事物，互为根据，互为后果，相互联系，组成现实世界。黑格尔认为“根据”还没有自在自为地规定了的内容，因而它只是形式的，实存则自身反映又映现他物，形成根据与后果互相依存、无限联系的世界。如走电则房屋被焚毁，前者是根据，后者是实存。实存的世界是相对的，一物制约他物，同时也为他物制约。一物从知性来看是相对的，从理性来看则因相互关系而成为绝对的。由于实存的相对性也包含有与其他实存着的东西的联系于自身内，因而从实存而发展到事物（金炳华，2003：27）。在黑格尔的哲学体系中，“实存即是无定限的许多存在的事物，反映在自身内，同时又映现在他物中，所以他们是相对的，它们形成一个根据与后果互相依存、无限联系的世界”（黑格尔，1987：266）。这一世界其实是有所指的，即“实存着的东西”、“物”或“东西”，“假设当前有了一个事情的一切条件，那么，这个事情便进入了实存了”（黑格尔，1992：113）。
