定义

可检验性原则为卡尔纳普提出的一条比证实原则缓和、但比可验性原则严格的经验意义标准。其内容是：对于一个被可能的、可观察的事件所验证的语句，如果人们能够提出一种可以随意地产生这种事件的方法，那么这个语句便是可以检验的。在这种场合下，这个方法便是这个语句的检验程序（余源培，2009：182）。可检验性原则比可验性原则稍微强一点。因为一个语句可以是可验证的，而不是可检验的，即如果知道对某种事态的观察可以验证某一语句，而对另一种事态的观察可以否认这一语句，而不必知道如何实现前一种或后一种观察（万中航，2003：215）。
