定义

成见亦即“偏见”，德国哲学家伽达默尔创立的的解释学美学概念，指在理解过程中，人无法站在纯粹客观的立场上，超越历史时空去理解文本和历史事件。伽达默尔认为，“历史性是人类生存的基本事实，无论是认知主体还是作为对象的作品都内在地嵌于历史性中”（李鹏程，2003：28）。他认为人总是处于一定的历史情境之中，相应的也总是从历史中某个相对的地点和时间去理解文本和历史事件，正是理解的历史性构成了我们的成见。他还认为，成见是不可避免的，“不是我们的判断，而是我们的成见构成了我们的在”（李鹏程，2003：28）。他认为理解是以成见为基础的，同时在理解过程中，又会不断地产生新的成见，成见使得理解不是消极地去复制文本，而是进行一种“生产性的”努力：一方面具有成见的理解活动，使文本产生新的意义，理解的生成性使理解在主观成见中照亮作品，并在作品上打上自己的印痕；另一方面，成见又必须在理解过程中不断检验、调整和修正，从而弘扬合法的成见，显露文本的真理。伽达默尔认为,“成见不是一个坏字眼，一切理解都是带有成见的；问题不是要抛弃成见，而是要区别什么是合理的合法的成见，什么是错误的不合法的成见，因为成见不仅表明了传统所规定的理解活动的框架或轨迹，而且是形成新理解、新传统的基本条件”（金炳华，2003：1049）。
