定义

科学逻辑是研究经验自然科学认识活动形式和手段的科学。自然科学和逻辑学交叉结合形成的学科。其主要研究对象是科学发现的逻辑、科学检验的逻辑、科学发展的逻辑。它探究的是高层次的科学方法论。科学逻辑的主要研究内容包括：①科学认识活动的逻辑起点；②科学假说提出的条件及其科学依据；③科学假说的说明和理论解释；④科学发展的模式；⑤科学理论的产生、发展的内在逻辑和社会需要（姜振寰，1990：537-538）。科学逻辑既是一门描述性的学科，又是一门规范性的学科。它主要包括三个最基本的方面：一是“发现的逻辑”，即科学理论的发现方法，探讨科学发现活动范围的合理性问题；二是“检验的逻辑”，即科学理论的检验方法，探讨科学理论检验活动范围的合理性问题；三是“发展的逻辑”，即科学理论的发展方法，探讨科学理论的演变与更替过程的合理性问题。三者虽各有其特点，但却是互相密切联系着的。一说“科学逻辑”即“科学哲学”，为科学中的认识论与逻辑问题的通称（金炳华，2003:592）。
