定义

道德意识即人们对一定社会或阶级所提出的道德要求、所制定的道德原则和道德规范的体验与认识。它是对一定道德关系、道德活动的反映、概括和总结，一旦形成，便对人们的行为起指导和支配作用。道德意识是道德活动中重要的因素，是道德行为产生的策源地与行动的内驱力。道德意识主要有道德规范意识和道德思想意识。道德规范意识是人们在社会生活中的言行举止所依据的准则或标准，包括某一社会的道德原则、道德规范。道德思想意识是人们在社会活动中对某一社会或阶级的道德原则、道德规范的认识水平，以及所形成的道德品质和所达到的道德境界，包括个人的道德认识、道德情感、道德意志、道德信念和道德习惯等几个方面。一般来说，人们在特定的社会环境中对某一社会或阶级所提出的道德要求、所制定的道德原则和道德规范都有一定的理解、认识并由此产生行为意向，无论是自觉的还是不自觉的，正确的还是不正确的，总是如此。但由于人们的道德意识会受到各种主客观因素的影响，因而它既是相对稳定的，又是能动可变的（王信泉，1997：26）。
