The Four Immeasurables; or Infinite States of Mind (catvāri apramāṇāni)

定义

慈、悲、喜、舍四梵行。“慈”能给人予乐，“悲”能救人于苦，“喜”见人离苦得乐生喜悦之心，“舍”能舍怨舍亲，怨亲无别，心存平等。

The four noble acts include: maitrī, kindness; karuṇā, pity; muditā, joy; and upekṣā, indifference. Kindness can give happiness to others; pity can save others from suffering; joy is the happiness that arises from seeing others rescued from suffering; and indifference means giving up both affection and dislike, as well as the distinction between love and hate, to keep an impartial mind.
