The Four Right Efforts （saṃyakprahāṇa）

断恶生善的四种修行方法，即为断已生之恶而勤精进、为使未生之恶不生而勤精进、为使未生之善能生而勤精进、为使已生之善增长而勤精进。

Four practice methods for ending evil which exists and bringing good into existence: the endeavor to get rid of evil which has arisen; the endeavor not to produce evil which has not yet arisen; the endeavor to nurture goodness which has not yet arisen; and the endeavor to increase goodness which has already arisen.
