定义

服务业，指生产和销售服务产品的生产部门和企业的集合，具有非实物性、不可储存性和生产与消费同时性等特征。在我国国民经济行业分类中，服务业被视同为第三产业，包括除农业、工业之外的所有产业部门。服务业是随着商品生产和商品交换的发展而逐渐形成的，经历了为流通服务到为生活服务、以及进一步扩展到为生产服务的发展过程。服务产品的生产、交换和消费紧密结合是服务业经济活动最基本的特点。在经营上，服务业具有范围广泛、综合服务、业务技术性强、分散性和地方性较大等特点。服务业的社会性质随历史的发展而变化。在前资本主义社会，服务业大多由小生产者经营，主要为奴隶主和封建主服务，具有小商品经济性质；在资本主义时期，服务业以盈利为目的，资本家和服务劳动者之间属雇佣关系；在社会主义社会，服务业以生产资料公有制为基础，其目的是提高人民群众物质文化生活，因而是真正为全社会的生产、流通和消费服务的行业。（服务业.via: http://baike.so.com/doc/956521-1011116.html）
