中国共产党，简称中共，成立于1921年7月，1949年10月至今为代表工人阶级领导工农联盟和统一战线，在中国大陆实行人民民主专政的中华人民共和国唯一执政党。中国工人阶级的先锋队，中国社会主义事业的领导核心，中国各族人民利益的代表者。中国共产党以马克思列宁主义、毛泽东思想、邓小平理论、“三个代表”重要思想和科学发展观作为自己的行动指南，最终目的是实现共产主义的社会制度。1921年7月23日—31日，在上海召开了中国共产党的第一次全国代表大会。大会通过了中国共产党的第一个纲领和决议。从此，中国诞生了完全新式的、以共产主义为目的、以马列主义为行动指南的、统一的工人阶级政党。历经多年国共内战，中国共产党在中国大陆和绝大多数沿海岛屿取得全面胜利，率领中国人民解放军打败中华民国国军，迫使中华民国政府退守台澎金马，并在1949年于北京建立实行社会主义制度的中华人民共和国。党的最高领导机关，是党的中国共产党全国代表大会和它所产生的中央委员会（第10条）。目前的“党代会”一般每五年举行一次，为期数天。在全国代表大会闭会期间，中央委员会执行全国代表大会的决议，领导党的全部工作，对外代表中国共产党在指导思想上，《中国共产党章程》明确规定：“中国共产党以马克思列宁主义、毛泽东思想、邓小平理论和“三个代表”重要思想作为自己的行动指南。”中国共产党的执政原则有：坚持党的指导思想和基本路线；坚持解放思想，实事求是，与时俱进；坚持全心全意为人民服务；坚持民主集中制；坚持以经济建设为中心；坚持四项基本原则；坚持改革开放；坚持和平共处五项原则；坚持党领导人民解放军等其他力量。党的领导主要是政治，思想和组织的领导。中国共产党现任总书记为习近平。现任中央政治局常委有：习近平、李克强、张德江、俞正声、刘云山、王岐山、张高丽。（中国共产党.via: http://baike.sogou.com/v67339654.htm?fromTitle=%E4%B8%AD%E5%85%B1）
