定义

婚姻道德，是指一定社会关于婚姻过程中男女双方的道德要求，即婚姻过程中男女双方所应当遵循的道德规范（金炳华等，2003：664）。社会物质生活条件对婚姻关系形成制约（朱贻庭等，2011：34）。在以私有制为基础的社会里，婚姻被作为扩展政治和经济势力的手段，男女双方的结合以一定的经济条件为基础。在封建制度下，男女青年的婚姻多由双方家长依据门第、财富而包办决定，封建社会的基本的婚姻道德规范是男主女从（冯契等，2007：817）。资本主义社会的法律虽然承认男女双方婚姻自主，承认不以爱情为基础的婚姻是不道德的，但实际上，资产阶级却往往将婚姻关系理解为互相占有的财产关系，这致使婚姻同爱情相分离（金炳华等，2003：664）。在社会主义制度下，由于生产资料的公有制的建立，劳动者成为社会的主人，男女平等得以实现，男女双方的结合有可能摆脱钱财的束缚，婚姻与爱情的统一可以实现。权利与义务的统一是社会主义婚姻道德的基础。婚姻过程中的男女双方既享有爱的权利，也负有爱的义务，爱情中权利与义务是统一的。我国婚姻法规定，婚姻自由、一夫一妻、男女平等，这既是对婚姻的法律要求，也是对婚姻的道德要求。社会主义婚姻道德反对包办婚姻、买卖婚姻、喜新厌旧以及轻率地转移爱情对象等行为，并对这些行为予以谴责（朱贻庭等，2011：34）。
