多神教是相信并崇拜多位神灵的宗教。相对应一神教而言，以前埃及、希腊、罗马、北欧以神话为基础的宗教，以及现代日本的神道教，美洲的伏都教和新兴的威卡教都被认为是多神教，融入各地民间信仰的佛教则被认为是全球三大宗教中唯一的多神教。中国传统宗教揉合了儒、释、道三教的信仰，在寺庙中各种不同宗教的神灵被共同祭祀（中国民间至今仍有“天官赐福”“定福灶君”“门口土地财神”等习俗）也正是多神教典型之一。
