Six Principles of Chinese Painting

中国画术语，指中国画和敦煌壁画的表现技法。南宋谢赫的《古画品录》所举“六法”为：“气韵生动，骨法用笔，应物象形，随类赋彩，经营位置，传移模写（又称传模移写）”。

The Six Principles of Chinese Painting: refers to expressive techniques of Chinese painting and murals. The Six Principles of Chinese Painting were originally proposed by Xie He in the Southern Song Dynasty. In his work The Record of the Classification of Old Painters, the six principles are listed as Spirit Resonance (vitality), Bone Method (way of using the brush), Correspondence to the Object (depicting of form), Suitability to Type (application of color), Division and Planning (arrangement), and Transmission by Copying (copying of models).
