达伦多夫（Ralf Dahrendorf，1929—2009），德国社会学家、思想家，政治家，一代自由主义思想巨人，自由派社会国家理论和冲突理论的代表人物之一，其思想深刻的影响了二战后的德国社会学研究。达伦多夫生前在科学和政治领域担任过很多重要职位。他反对马克思主义阶级斗争学说，也反对美国帕森斯的结构功能主义，认为后者忽视了社会冲突的存在（冯契等，2000：259）。他生于德国汉堡，曾在汉堡大学学习哲学和古典语言学，1952年从汉堡大学毕业后到伦敦经济学院攻读社会学，1956年获博士学位。曾在萨尔、汉堡、图宾根以及康斯坦斯大学任教。1967—1970年任德国社会学协会会长。1974年起任伦敦经济学院院长。1982年，达伦多夫被英国授予爵士头衔，1993年被授予勋爵。早在1958年，就对功能主义提出批评，从变迁、冲突、诸要素对系统分化的作用以及暴力等方面对社会进行解剖。他认为现代阶级冲突的根源不是占有和不占有生产资料之间的矛盾，而是权威的分享和排斥之间的矛盾。还提出了社会人的概念。主要著作有《社会冲突理论探讨》（1958）、《工业社会中的阶级冲突》（1959）、《走出乌托邦》、《社会人》、《阶级后的冲突》、《生活的机会》等（达伦多夫.via：http://baike.so.com/doc/7881239-8155334.html）。
