无产阶级只有解放全人类才能最后解放自己，是马克思主义的一个重要论点，是恩格斯关于无产阶级历史使命的一个重要原理。无产阶级是没有生产资料，为了生存被迫出卖劳动力的阶级。无产阶级处于资本主义社会整个“金字塔”的最底层，无产阶级的解放，必然就是这个金字塔结构的整个摧毁。正是这种一无所有的状况，决定了无产阶级在革命中，除了丧失颈上的链条和贫困，不会担心丧失任何其他东西。马克思在《共产党宣言》一文中指出：“无产阶级，现今社会的最下层，如果不炸毁构成官方社会的整个上层，就不能抬起头来，挺起胸来”，“无产阶级只有消灭自己的现存的占有方式，才能取得社会生产力。无产阶级没有什么自己的东西必须加以保护，他们必须摧毁至今保护和保障私有财产的一切”（马克思等，2012：441）。无产阶级的最终解放，不但必须消灭资产阶级私有制，而且必须消灭一切私有制。无产阶级的解放，也就意味着和一切私有制有关的阶级解放。无产阶级的解放必然是绝大多数人的解放。“他们都不是作为当时已经历史地产生的无产阶级的利益的代表出现的。他们和启蒙学者一样，并不是想首先解放一个阶级，而是想立即解放全人类。”无产阶级本身是最大公无私的阶级，它没有任何需要特别加以保护的私利，因此，无产阶级的利益代表了全体劳动人民和全人类的利益，无产阶级的解放同全人类的解放是一致的。根据这一原理，无产阶级在一国胜利不是他们的最终目的，最终目的是实现全人类解放（康绍邦等，1991）。
