定义

上层建筑，通常与“经济基础”一同出现。是指建立在一定经济基础之上的社会意识形态以及和它相适应的政治、法律制度（或社会制度组织）及其设施的总和，即“观念上层建筑和政治上层建筑的总和”（卢之超，1993：689）。上层建筑是历史唯物主义的基本概念，“上层建筑与经济基础对立统一”（上层建筑.via: http://baike.baidu.com/item/%E4%B8%8A%E5%B1%82%E5%BB%BA%E7%AD%91/680547）。“马克思和恩格斯在1845—1846年合写的《德意志意识形态》中初步形成经济基础和上层建筑的概念，马克思在1852年《路易·波拿巴的雾月十八日》一书中明确指出：‘在不同的占有形式上，在社会生存条件上，耸立着由各种不同的、表现独特的情感、幻想、思想方式和人生观构成的整个上层建筑。整个阶级在它的物质条件和相应的社会关系的基础上创造和构成这一切。’1859年在《〈政治经济学批判〉序言》中进一步阐述了这一概念：与物质生产力发展的一定阶段相适应的‘生产关系的总和构成社会的经济结构，即有法律的和政治的上层建筑竖立其上并有一定的社会意识形式与之相适应的现实基础”（知网百科）。上层建筑包括：政治上层建筑和观念上层建筑。政治上层建筑最直接反映经济基础，包括了根据一定意识形态建立的各种政治和法律制度、规章条例、法令法规以及与一定意识形态和制度相适应的主要包括国家政权机构、政党、政府、军队、警察、法院等的各种设施。观念上层建筑又叫社会意识形态，包括了反映经济基础的政治、法律、道德、艺术、宗教、哲学等观点。经济基础决定上层建筑，上层建筑具有相对独立性并反作用于经济基础，两者之间的矛盾是社会的基本矛盾之一。
