| 释义 | three represents “三个代表”是江泽民同志提出的一个概念，全文是“中国共产党代表中国先进生产力的发展要求，代表中国先进文化的前进方向，代表中国最广大人民的根本利益”，其英文是The Chinese Communist Party represents the development trend of China's advanced productive forces, the orientation of China's advanced culture, and the fundamental interests of the broad masses of the Chinese people。注意：这个译文中省略了“前进”和“最”两个词，这是很好的，因为orientation包含了“前进”的意思，而broad masses是不可以用most修饰的，有的译文用了overwhelming一词，其实不加也可。 “三个代表”最初译为three representatives，成了“三位代表／众议员”，后来才改译为three represents。严格说，represent是动词，three represents的用法不符合英语的习惯用法，不过由于我国对外宣传中大量使用，外国英文报刊也都认可了。这大概是“中式英语”被接受的一个例子。 |
