All written to a tune with strict tonal patterns and rhyme schemes, they differ from one another in sentence patterns and number of character s. The first two poems, also recorded in manuscript P.2838, express a woman’s pining for her beloved who is away on the frontier. The third poem conveys adoration for a beautiful lady. The last poem describes the loyalty and sincerity of a woman in love. |
