定义

社会化大生产又称生产的社会化，是指以机器大工业为主要特征的生产，它是由社会分工和协作联系起来的大规模的社会生产。社会化大生产的标志是：生产广泛使用机器，社会分工越来越细，协作的范围越来越广，生产越来越具有社会性等。具体地说：第一，是生产资料在使用上的社会化，即把有限的生产资料从单个人使用的生产资料变为社会化的由大批人共同使用的生产资料。第二，是生产过程的社会化，即生产本身也从一系列的个人行动变成了一系列的社会行动，产品也从单个人的产品变成了社会性的产品。特别是生产专业化的发展，一件综合性较大的产品都是许多工厂共同协作的产品。于是，新的生产部门不断出现，各企业各部门间的相互依赖关系更加扩大和加强，原来分散的生产过程变成彼此不可分割的统一的社会生产过程。第三，是为满足社会的需要而生产的。由于生产规模的扩大和社会分工的进一步发展，狭小的地方市场汇合成统一的国内市场。统一的国内市场逐渐被突破，形成了世界市场。社会化大生产是从资本主义登上历史舞台开始的。社会化大生产形成了强大的社会生产力，成为资本主义制度战胜封建制度的物质基础。而社会化大生产的进一步发展，也为社会主义制度代替资本主义制度创造了条件（卢鸿德,陈谟开,张惠芳等，1993：842）。
