Chants on Reciting the Buddha’s Name

佛家赞文。S.5572署“释法照”作。题后原注“有十种功德”一组十首，自“第一”至“第十”。每首七言四句，宣扬高声念佛的十大功德。

Buddhists chants recorded in the Dunhuang manuscripts. As recorded in S.5572, there is an inscription at the end of the chants reading “Written by Monk Fazhao,” and originally behind the title there is a notation reading “Attaining Ten Merits.” The chants are organized into 10 groups, titled “Number 1” to “Number 10.” Each chant is in a seven-character pattern with four lines, devoted to advocating the ten major merits of reciting the Buddha’s name.
