On Sacred Teachings: To the Tune of Shi Er Shi

唐人曲词，作者不详。共十二首，均三、七、七、七句式。词叙悉达太子本生经历，即由诞生、成佛、行教，以迄双林说法，弟子忏悔。故又称《太子十二时》。

A group of 12 lyric poems from the Tang Dynasty, with the authors unidentified. All in a “3-7-7-7” sentence pattern, the poems describe stories about the life of the Buddha as Prince Siddhartha, from his birth, his enlightenment, to his preaching of the Dharma, and eventually to his delivering his final sermon in Vaiśālī with confessions by his disciples. Therefore, the poems are also known as “On Prince Siddhartha: To the Tune of Shi Er Shi”.
